Connie Farrell is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University in New York and holds an MA in Screenwriting from the National Film School at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.  She has produced, directed and edited commercials, shorts and feature length films in Ireland, the US, UK and former USSR.  In 1990 Connie established recklessvideo, an independent production company in New York with a client list that included the American Stock Exchange, San Francisco Ballet, Sony/e-catalogue, among others.  Since relocating to Ireland in 1999, Farrell has concentrated primarily on short fiction films and collaborative projects with visual artists.  ï»¿

​Connie’s short films Plain Jane and PAiNTER W0RKER have screened in festivals internationally and been broadcast in Ireland and France, and she has had work commissioned by RTE and La Maison Laurentine/Centre d’Art Contemporain in France.​  ï»¿

 

​​Connie has lectured at both the Huston School of FIlm & Digital Media (part of the National University of Ireland, Galway) and the Galway-Mayo Institute of  Technology where she shared her broad experience at both the BA and MA level.  She specialises in fiction film production (16mm motion picture, HD and DSLR), screenwriting and editing.  Sample work of her students can be found a the Huston School website, www.filmschool.ie. Connie has also led a number of community-based workshops and always welcomes the opportunity to work with diverse groups of emerging filmmakers.
